In PreAP biology we are entering the Fungi Unit and I thought it would be cool to brew some Kombucha Tea and would love some help procuring some supplies, however, NOT required.  Homework passes will be granted to students who help with some of the following ingredients/supplies.  Kombucha Tea is a fermented tea; however, the alcohol content is no more than a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice.  The tea is very rich in antioxidants and will be fun to brew and witness.  A Scooby, fungal mat/disk, will grow on the top layer of the sugary liquid tea solution.  Here are some needed supplies:

1) Mason jars, pickle jars, spaghetti jars with lids
2) Clean T-Shirts or A linen/cotton handkerchief or a paper tissue
3) Refined Sugar
4) Packets of green and black tea

Any help will be appreciated...just trying to make learning fun!
